TRENT PIRIHI

Trent Pirihi

Head Strength Coach, Director

Trent Pirihi is the founder of Inner Athlete and an experienced strength and conditioning coach who specialises in helping youth athletes build strong foundations for long-term success in sport.

With more than 10 years of experience in athletic development and physical preparation, Trent has coached in Victoria and the United States. He worked with Division I collegiate and international-level athletes at the University of Wisconsin, played semi-professional rugby league in Boston, Massachusetts, and served as Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Victorian Under-18 Lightning Bolts, a Melbourne Storm feeder club.

Trent also spent three years working at an addiction rehabilitation centre, helping clients make health and fitness a positive and sustainable part of their lives. This experience strengthened his belief that good coaching goes beyond physical performance. It also develops confidence, discipline, resilience, and healthy habits.

Trent is currently the Head of Strength and Conditioning for Melbourne Swimming Club, where he oversees dryland training and physical preparation across four locations in Victoria.

Through Inner Athlete, Trent works with youth athletes from a wide range of sports, including swimming, track and field, field hockey, rugby league, Australian rules football, tennis, soccer, baseball, basketball, and lacrosse.

His coaching is built around long-term youth athlete development. Rather than chasing quick results, Trent helps young athletes improve their movement, strength, coordination, confidence, and understanding of training in an age-appropriate environment.

The goal is to give every young athlete the physical and mental foundations they need to enjoy their sport, reduce the risk of avoidable setbacks, and continue progressing as they grow.
